Sybil Davis, Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE)
Professor Davis studied to become a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) at the American Hotel Lodging Association Educational Institute in Montreux, Switzerland and at Michigan State University. She holds an International Protocol Officer certification, as well as certifications in Business Etiquette and International Protocol, Children’s Etiquette and Tea Etiquette from The Protocol School of Washington.
Professor Davis taught for 20 years as a professor in hospitality education at Greenville Technical College, 15 of those years as lead professor. During her career, Davis also served as visiting professor at Bangkok University for several summer semesters, teaching courses on professionalism, business etiquette and manners.
Though she retired from full-time teaching in 2014, Davis continues to teach as a part-time instructor both in Greenville, SC and in Bangkok, Thailand.
Professor Davis served on the Malcolm Baldrige Board of Examiners from 2001 to 2004 and is a two-time winner of the SCTEA (South Carolina Technical Educators Association) Teacher of the Year. She has also conducted professional training for dozens of organizations, including the following:
