Quick Jobs Service
CHI’s Quick Jobs: Advanced Service Skills Certificate Program is designed to build on your existing skills as an experienced server, helping you to become a more refined, knowledgeable and polished hospitality professional. Over the course of eight half-days, you’ll have the opportunity to earn a ServSafe Food Handler certification and rediscover the elements of exceptional service, with a special emphasis on responsible and effective beverage service. This practical, hands-on course focuses on navigating a variety of service settings and understanding customers for effective suggestive selling and building your confidence in handling real-world challenges.
For the second half of this course, you’ll have the opportunity to complete TIPS alcohol-service training and learn the elements of a world-class beverage program first-hand from makers and industry professionals. You’ll learn how the growing process affects wine varietals, understand how brewing and distillation processes affect beer and spirits, and learn the expert tips needed to run a safe and clean bar. From understanding modern mixology to pairing beverages with food, this eight half-day course is an incredible opportunity to hone your service skills.
This two-week, half-day program includes professional life skills, ServSafe Food Handler sanitation certification training, plus TIPS responsible alcohol service certification training.

- Day SEVEN: Beer Education and Evaluation

- Day EIGHT: Spirits Education and Evaluation

Yes. We provide everything you need.
What’s the dress code for the advanced service program?
You will need to wear a neat, clean uniform consisting of dark slacks, a button-up shirt, and closed-toe, non-slip black shoes. You may instead wear your current service job uniform if it is similarly neat and professional. See the policies and procedures page for dress codes and more.
Are books and class materials provided?
Yes. We provide everything you need.
Are meals provided?
For full-day programs, CHI will provide lunch every day of class. For half-day programs, no lunch is provided.
May I miss a class?
As this is an intensive job training program, every day of training is important. Students must attend every class to earn a certificate of completion, but accommodations may be made for students who are already ServSafe and/or TIPs certified.CHI is proud to work with local industry partners looking to hire interns, apprentices, part-time employees and full-time employees. If you’re looking for work, we have the connections to help you get a new or better job!
After graduation from this program, you will be given a certificate of completion and a reference letter to take to your first job interview. You’ll also be eligible to take advantage of Greenville Technical College’s full range of career services for students.
